Magomamoto Theatre Group ignites stages with the primal pulse of drums and mesmerizing dance.
With electrifying live performances, MTG blends traditional drumming, dance, vocals, and drama to narrate the rich tapestry of their people's stories — spanning from historical epics to contemporary struggles.
Established in 2019 by students from TASUBA College of Arts in Bagamoyo, MTG is a beacon of Tanzanian cultural heritage. Through dynamic live shows, workshops, school programs, and collaborations with music organizations worldwide — including Europe, the USA, Nigeria, and South Africa — MTG spreads the vibrant spirit of Tanzanian culture far and wide.
Magomamoto Theatre Group (MTG) is a registered performing arts organisation founded in 2019 by graduates of TASUBA — the Tanzania School of Arts — in Bagamoyo, one of East Africa's most historically and culturally significant towns.
With 25 dedicated artists (14 male, 11 female), MTG preserves, educates, and celebrates Tanzania's rich cultural heritage through traditional music, dance, drama, and storytelling — bringing the soul of Tanzania to world stages.
We believe art and culture are not only a source of pride — they are a powerful vehicle for community development and economic empowerment for Tanzanian youth.
